I never understood why men (and women) pay lots of money to get sun-tanned only to have their skin cells burned and destryoed. What good does it do? I guess men believe they have to be dark skinned to get attention from women, that it looks masculine. Hmm hello, skin cancer...? It's dumb. Those young folks roasting themselves at the beach are going ( Read more... )

Tanning is ridiculous when you set aside time specifically for burning your skin. I like to have fun outside and get tanned incidentally. Of course, that usually means I get a farmer's tan as I most often wear a shirt.

I like sunbathing, mostly because I never get sunburned. I use SPF 20 sun lotion, and I tan nicely. I only do this at the beach though.

Tanning? No way. I avoid going outside when it's hot as much as possible. One hellishly hot roleplayweekend outside made my skin hurt for a good three weeks. X( And somehow my skin does not want to tan anyway.
Half of my relatives had skin cancers due to 'liking the sun so much'.

The soul of your vapourised brother probably smells like grilled sausage. @_@

Whoa, half of your relatives??
Please protect yourself with SPF50 sunscreen
and make sure it doesn't contain any harmful stuff ><
I should post the evil chemical list soon...

Haha XD I must stay alert for the sausage-smelling ghost
because the balcony is right beside the room I sleep in.
It might show up at night!

p.s. I found your postcard right when I came back from the post office
(the package's already been sent, it better get there safely!)
Thank you so much for the lovely postcard!
*Hugs and places the postcard inside my letter box*

Well, 'half'... let's just say it's a bunch. I stay away from the sunshine altogether, so I guess I am more or less safe without chemical sunscreen. Always wear my hat outside to protect my eyes and face, and usually most of my body is covered (with the exeption of my lower arms). *interested in the evil chemicals list* o_o
The evil weather during that roleplay weekend made my face freckly. Now I look like Milk & Cinnamon. ><

Yes, yes, look out for the ghastly sausage smelling ghost~! I am sure glad your broter did not evaporate on my balcony. He would then most surely haunt my (imaginary) castle and (make-believe) frog-infested pond. And I do not like sausage. O_o;

Glad the probe postcard made it to Japland~! ^-^v It was very difficult to find the German mailboxes, and when we finally found them (turns out they were right across the Starbucks, where we wrote the cards ><;) we hardly trusted them to be for real.
Ooh, exciting... I shall be lying in wait for the pink envelope~! ^o^~♥ And prepare a proper reply this time, of course. ^

*blink* but I thought Japanese people wanted to be pale? I remember my students in Saga were alway envious of how pale my skin was. Personally, I would give anything to be tan like them! But I can't tan (I only burn) so it's only a dream. One day I asked them if they would want be as white as a Geisha....they said no, that was too white. Whew! I was happy to hear that ^_^ But yes, I stay away from the sun. Some people in my family have already had skin cancer from getting burned when they were young ;_;

Geisha is creepy XD

Many young women and men spend money tan their skin brown...
But I guess some people prefer fair skin. :O

p.s.You should be receiving the two packages within a week or so :)

I never like being tanned. I like being fair. Plus I hate the sun.
The weather here in Singapore is a lot more worst I tell you.
It's humid all year round. At least Japan has the 4 seasons.

Worse? That would be horrible... poor thing.
Singapore doesn't have the 4 seasons? :O

It's like summer all year round, Nov-Dec period would be very wet. Our country's very near the equator you see.. so no 4 seasons. =(
