PREPARE FOR A LONG, RANDOM, RAMBLING POST ABOUT MY NEW JOB!
To protect those who don't want to read, I put it behind a cut!
H’okay, so. This is my job. Pretty sweet lookin’ job, you might say - ART! H’anyway, so -
… that’s enough of that XD So here I am at work (not posting this from work, just writing it - no internets unless we pirate it from next door >.>). I am processing a hundred million old files to return to people. It is - insanity. Oh, I should, uh, tell you what I’m doing XD I’m in California, in this internship program. It’s pretty damned nifty. I got an internship at The Arts Council of Sonoma County. It’s shiny! Loooootta paperwork, though -_-; I’m not looking forward to making calls to check on the addresses. I mean - Szczepanski? How the fuck do you pronounce that? O_O
… craaaaap I have to go back and edit the last 83 entries I did because I filled it out wrong. *sigh* Excel is your friend. Really. I swear.
Right - edited all those. Is it sad that my ‘break’ is writing this journal entry? Woohoo, I fail :D … maybe I’ll make a quick icon. I’m special >.>
Right, the rundown of my coworkers, as far as I know. Catherine is my bossthing - she’s the volunteer coordinator… thing. She’s supercool and laidback. She’s like “What time do you want to leave today? ^_^” I was like “… uh. When… do you want me to leave?” “Oh, you know, whenever.” It’s like rehabilitating after being in prison. She keeps reminding me to stop working and take a break. I was like “But - it’s not - I - I get a break? Really?” I had to wait until Allan or the shift head told me to take my ten, back at Starbucks. I can sit and talk to people. How cool is that? And how sad is it that I think this is a new and fantastic thing? Yeah, Starbucks is like bootcamp sometimes. Take your ten at this time, take your lunch at this time. I’m not adjusting well to this new freedom. I waited two and a half hours to take a break the first time because you had to work at least two hours before you got a ten at Starbucks. Four hours for a lunch break. I was here - maybe three-ish hours when Catherine and Sam (I dunno what Sam does, she’s just nice XD) were like “We’re going to the deli, wanna come with?” Like - go to the deli. Outside the office. Take a break to get lunch. And - sit and eat it. And talk. I was shocked, which makes me sad.
AUGH WTF WHERE DID MY EXCEL DOCUMENT GO? :O …. Oh okay there it is. Phew. Back to work for a bit.
It’s cool to work in a place where I can listen to Spring Awakening and no one cares XD I mean - it’s not loud. But I’m listening to a song called Totally Fucked. No one’s asked me to turn it off. Woohoo! (I was told I could listen to my music at a reasonable level… I used to have a place by the window… and I could watch the squirrels… and they were merry… I believe that’s my stapler…)
… that’s the Sue-iest name ever XD Chaz Willow Clover. I bet they have violet orbs for eyes. Oh there’s a picture - damn, he’s normal looking. Last names first amuses me. Because then we have Gay Gary and Gentle Michael. Ha, there’s a person who just goes by Easton. How very… Cher of them. They’ve got AOL, I should IM them and be like “Y helo there >:] I leik ur artz, lolz.” Only not. Ahem >.>
Oh right! Coworkers XD There’s BossJohn who actually grew up in Doore County, WI. I was shocked, since that’s right near where I go every summer. Then there’s BritishJohn who’s for serious cool (and a little crazy. A lot crazy XD). Nicole is an adorable little Asian girl that I want to squish and give tea. I think that’s everyone! They’re all laidback, except for BossJohn who wears a suit every day. Everyone else is in jeans. I’m so overdressed right now XD
Aaaaaaand time to go home, yay! :D
