11 [text tutorial]

Since everyone seems to love my text so much, I wrote a tutorial. It's not on an icon; it's just the text in general. Tutorial is for Photoshop CS. I'm not sure how to translate it to other programs. If anyone would like to, I'd definitely link it.

1. Pick text color and type something.

2. Add stroke by going to Layer -> Layer Style -> Stroke. Mine is 1px.

3. Add bevel and emboss by going to Layer -> Layer Style -> Bevel and Emboss. Here's a cap of how mine is usually set.

4. My text looks like this after step three.

5. Add inner glow by going to Layer -> Layer Style -> Inner Glow. These are my settings. Change the size of the glow depending on the text size.

6. My text is now done! Yay! Very simple. It looks like this:

7. I now set it on different blend modes, depending on the background texture. Here are a few examples:

Multiply

Lighten

Screen

Overlay

Soft Light

Hard Light

Color

As always, don't be afraid to try new things. And adapt. And show me what you've done; I'd love to see it! I like knowing that I don't do these things for nothing!
