Just revived the smallest of the four "Monsters" under my bed. To clarify things a little: my bed is at a height of five feet or so above the ground and the monsters, four of them, come in sizes 17, 19 and twice 20 inches cross-diagonal. Oh, and they are not flat, they are so not flat.
Ever since I moved out of my folks' place, I've never been able to leave my bed at a "normal" height. At first it was in fact due to the modest size of the room I occupied. Later I just thought it a waste not to use my bed space in all three dimensions.
When I moved back to my folks' place last year, all I had time and energy for was to put things in some place. Handling those heavy monitors was not easy as I'm no weightlifter. But I'm sturdy enough not to hurt myself handling one alone. At least so far. Knock on ... uh ... never-mind.
Now, as my internet computer has started to smell charred again last week, I started to feel a certain "urge" to get something done with my electronic equimpent. So I got my old notebook, which has a problem with its screen, hooked up and ready to use. Its all freshly installed and a really fast starter now. But with its 10 GB Hard-disk it will be put to very specific uses, mostly to do with sound.
There are two more computers and three "monsters" awaiting their "revival" - all of them under my bed. Well, now that I'm on holiday, I expect to find some time to build myself a cozy working environment down there.
