*sigh* Tired- just finished the first draft of my statement of purpose for my grad. school application. I hate writing these things and I've been procrastinating on it for ages, so it's nice to have at least the first draft done. After a friend looks at it, I'll fix things, then give it to two other people so they can write me letters of support ( Read more... )

Thanks! *snugs*

I think it was easier to write these things when I was an idealistic high school student just starting college, with lots of excitement and bright ideas. Now that I've been through two degree programs and a lot of work experience, it's harder to sound excited and optimistic. We'll see what happens next!

Thank you! It's for a year-long immersive Japanese language program at Cornell University. I'm hoping to apply the language skills to my current work in academic libraries. It'll be lots of work but worth it.

How're you doing these days?

Oooo, that sounds really good. I'd love to do that. Before deciding to move, I considered going for my PhD. But.. we wanted to be closer to family and we do want to try for another baby this upcoming year. I think I made the right decision.

Still working on getting a job. I'm in the next stage for a job at the university that would pay quite nice. Just wish the process didn't take so long. I'm hoping to find some temp work to bring in some $ in the near future. Otherwise, hanging in here and trying to get some writing done.
