Had a fairly good weekend. Picked up tons of manga and the first DVD of Read or Die on Friday night. Came home, talked to a friend who's staying with me this weekend, and to Dad about the condo. Wanted to go to Phil's birthday party, but was a little too late by the time I finished the phone calls. Watched R.O.D. instead- gorgeous music, kind ( Read more... )

*hugs* Meant to tell you congrats on the condo. And anytime you see me on AIM, glomp me and ask for some IRC help if you still need it!

Thanks! Yeah, it's nice to have my housing situation settled, finally. Wasn't looking forward to MORE months of futile rental searches... and this way, my dad has another project and investment for retirement. So it works out for everyone ^_^

Next time I see you on AIM and you're not idle, I'll definitely ask- still need help. I'm not completely inept at computers, but no one has ever shown me the basics of things like downloading, IRC, etc. Glad you didn't reply back yesterday, though- that OS snippet was wonderful!

I second that! Congrats on the condo. It's so nice to have a place to call your own. I almost owned one last year, but since the brats decided they weren't ready to move out, we ended up buying a 4 bedroom house. Ouch.

Thank you! It's a little more work than renting, and I'm a tad nervous about it, since I've never owned a place before, but I think it'll be okay. If I need it, Dad will help- supportive parents are such a treasure these days.... and it's certainly in a much better neighborhood! Peace and quiet, nice trees, grassy park areas, right near campus... not bad at all. Now I just need to wait to hear about when I'm actually moving so I can start packing and cleaning.

4 bedroom houses are nice, though- even if the kids are still at home! I often miss my parents' large house, and always look forward to vacations. How many kids do you have?

And thanks again for the icons- I just love them!

It will be worth the extra work in the end. I was nervous about going from renting for over 10 years to owning our first home several years ago. As you realize, it so worth it in the end. And yes, supportive parents are great. The area sounds lovely.

Last year I moved in the middle of a large project at work and even went to a con the week before the move. Not a good idea. I then took two days off to have a four day weekend to unpack two weeks after the move and what did I do? I sprained my ankle falling down the basement stairs while carrying a box at 9:30 in the morning the first day. Needless to say, I didn't get my unpacking done.

I have two children. One you may have seen dressed as Akabane at the con. duet_chan my oldest and my son who is 20. It doesn't look like they are leaving any time soon. ^.^

Oh and welcome on the icons. I can still make changes is you wish. I'm glad you like them. It seems it one of the few things that borders creative that I can do. Hee.

Glad to hear that. At least it'll be an investment, rather than continuing to pour rental money down the drain. I'll make sure I have nothing huge going on around the time I move, though!

I was wondering who the Akabane was- excellent costume! One of my favorite characters in that series.
