I've been obsessed with stop motion since meus posted some a while back. I was just like I HAVE TO DO THAT! I wanted to make some moving J2 paper puppets with unraveling crochet. It just wasn't coming together so I switched it up and made the magic happen. Thank you for your always inspiring words darling ♥ they really mean A LOT!!!!

I wouldn't have a clue how to go about it, but you know what, I might try it on my minis, see if I can't come up with something stop motion-y for them. Is it really hard work?!

I loved what you did here and hopefully you can do your moving J2 Paper Puppets one day :D

Also *LOVES* Always welcome ♥

because I needed to make it from a series of photos i had to use layers in photoshop and turn it into animation. BUT with the minis if you could take the photos with your laptop there were quite a few easy online programs that kind of did the work for you with a bit lesser quality but great for just fun :)

puppets are still in the making, maybe a longer vignette for reverse bang :)))

thanks, the stitching was really fun to design and completely calls back to the story. I had some great images to work with and a great author♥

Oh, dear lord, how gorgeous is this!!!!!! WOW! What a wonderful job you did. I love the base art but then the animation on top is just blockbuster. I love the beautifully torn paper as it unrolls and the lovely little wobbles, just goes beautifully with the art, all handcrafted but high tech too.
Knocked it totally out of the park my dear. Magnificent job! Paper boxes, take that!

*all the hugs and kisses*

you so so inspired me with that post. I just saw SO MANY ideas I need to make happen with this. And now that I have finally figured out the process with photoshop I'm anxious for the next project. I'm glad the wobbles worked. That was the hard part, because I had to keep picking up the fabric and adding stitches so I couldn't keep the camera distance stable and had to rely on cropping. Very shady messed up cropping. But I'm elated with the end project and glad you like it too!!!!!

Animations like that are so challenging. Even the lighting changing as you take the pictures can either ruin or add to the effect. The wobbles really worked. They say in animation just a little movement captures the eye, you don't need a lot, we're hard wired to pick up flickers (sabertooth tigers sneaking up on us), and it unconsciously grabs our attention. The paper unrolling really gave the art that depth that I think the 'Moving Boxes' animations capitalize on so well with one thing on top of the other doing different things. I'm really looking forward to your next project too!
*smooches you back* BRAVO!

oh I was fighting against the light alright!!!I added all the little red seed stitches at intervals needing to photograph in between and stitch some more. It took hours and I was moving closer and closer to the window, inching my way. tricky.

Amazing art! I love the less traditional medium and the needlework is gorgeous. I would be honored to work with you again in the future.

Thank you for bringing my story to life so beautifully. <3

This is so *beautiful*!! The stitch work is lovely, and makes me want to read the story to find out what it's all about, and the stop-motion is cool!
