So the original plan is that I would be in New Orleans at this time, gutting houses by day with Habitat for Humanity and roaming the town at night with old friends. That didn't pan out when a snow storm swept the northeast, screwing up my flight schedule so that a return to Baltimore seemed to be the only reasonable alternative

You just made my day! I'm really happy for you. It sounds like he's really considerate and thoughtful, and I hope it works out well. I have to say, after having spent some time there (a long time ago now) that Ghanaians will always have a special place in my heart. :))

Your comment pretty much made my week! I keep taking these long hiatuses from livejournal land but it's only because of school work, etc. During the summer, when I don't know what to do with myself, I will be back here posting every five minutes, driving all of my friends crazy with my ramblings. Even if I don't post much right now, I do make it a point to read everyone else's posts and I'm still keeping up with your lovely photos. From my one interaction with this amazing boy from Ghana, I have quite a good impression of the country, but I will have to make the trip to make a better judgement someday in the not-so-distant future. It's hard for me to believe that this is real, things are moving in such a great direction between him and I. This all seems a little movie-like: we met in an airport at 4 am after a series of flight cancellations and camping out for hours, immediately there was a spark, we ate breakfast together and had one of those life-revealing conversations until his flight left, confident that we would never hear from each other again though we had exchanged information. It's going well though, only time can tell :)

I really hope that you know how much I miss you and want to know what's going on in your life. I know things here and there, but it's not the same as having you across from me in Panera to chat. I really want to call you except I have supremely failed at life again. I have your number, but the problem is that my cell phone was submerged in water by accident and I am anxiously waiting, hoping that it will dry out and start working within the next few days. Doh . . .
