WoW and the curious case of the Chinese Gold Charmer

Jan 23, 2006 18:20

There I was, playing with an alt on my server. He's a lowly level 12 undead warlock that I'm using to get to know the class and also farm leather and metal for my main Horde character. I was hanging around the outskirts of Brill, trying to decide what to do, when a huge level 60 Tauren warrior bounds over the hill to where I am. I notice his name " ( Read more... )

Wow, amazing story :)

People can be that generous, even to people not in their guild, sometimes!
I was doing some enchanting for a guy once, and had him tip me a large brilliant shard. Awesome people.

Btw, command+M switches WoW into windowed mode on a mac, which would let you switch apps to check your chinese . . .

It was lots of fun :)

I think especially when people hit 60, many of them remember what it was like to be < 60, and are happy to help out.

Ta for the tip on Macs! That'll be mucho handy in the future.

I've seen quite afew level 60s around that are generous (or sometimes just bored enough) to help out a lowbie. A rogue alt of mine got given a bunch of gold and runecloth bag just for walking into the inn at Goldshire.

It's cool. It's that little bit of randomness and spice that makes a world of difference between a standard computer game and a game where you interact with real people.

I'm a little embarrassed to say that I took up an offer of a guy that was adding +50 armour to cloaks for the first five people that found him in the Crossroads. My orc was so low level at the time that the cloak was still a grey item :P Great cloak now though :D

Hahaha! You'll be holding onto that measly grey cloak for a while now, I bet.

Having fun as an ickle Hordeling?

Ja. It's cool. I like the underdogs feel of the Horde.
I really should've generated a shaman, but you can't beat the chuckle value of eating someone's corpse when you're undead.

urf. don't talk to me about twinking. I don't think I'll ever do PvP-quests again after the debacle of the first time. It reminded me of the Diablo online experience.

Interesting, I don't get that on Twisting Nether as the Horde outnumber Alliance significantly

But my Warlock is on TN. Only my hunter is on Feathermoon. And a new Alt Warrior on Lightbringer.
