Room 319, late morning
The conversation with her father and Preston the evening before wasn't exactly unexpected. Meg understood the need to tighten security and to be honest, she wanted to be home, wanted to see for herself on a regular basis that her family was safe. Besides, given the current sympathies for the President, the press would probably give her a break for a while.
They'd offered to have someone go to Fandom to pack up her things, but Meg declined. She wanted some time away from the hospital and there were a few people she wanted to say good-bye to.
Of course when they'd arrived in Fandom and saw the zombies, her agents had every intention of hustling her back to the car and back to DC without her stuff. For once Meg threw a bit of a fit of I'm the President's daughter and managed to convince them to let her go to the dorms. Several zombies fell victim to the justifiably uptight agents by the time Meg was safely indoors.
Once in her room, Meg made a few calls then pulled out her bag and started to pack.
