(no subject)
so, for those of you that dont go to douglas or havent heard the story. my anatomy teacher has been fired.
for those of you that have heard, i would just like to clear up any false rumors that have been started.
-no one was hurt
-no one was threatened
-no one feared their life
the "story":
ms deering is my anatomy and physiology teacher. yesterday just after 6th hour began she approached a lab table with a knife and stabbed the knife point-down into the table through a students paper and made a hole in the table. she exclaimed "do i have your attention now?!". she certainly did have everyones attention and a vail of shock fell over the room. someone made a comment and she replied with "dont mess with a post-menopausal woman with a knife", made a crazy smile, cackled, and drove away on her wheel chair as though nothing happened. we then proceeded to watch a video and take a test on it. all period everyone was making plans to go to the office after class. as we were leaving i told a girl with a camera phone to take a picture of the knife that had sloppily been dropped on the front lab table.
after class, 10-15 students went to the front office to speak to an administrator. after speaking to an assistant principal we were told that three of us had to go the head of the science department. i, along with one of the girls sitting at the table, and the girl that had a photo of the 11-inch knife on her phone went to see the head of the department. there we wrote written statements and went to our 7th hour classes.
today, just after 6th hour began i was called down to the office again. two investigators, one for the school board and one for the school, questioned me under oath and recorded the conversation. i was the 5th person of 6 to be questioned today.
my teacher has been removed from the school and will not return. this was her 27th year teaching and 1st year at stoneman douglas.
in some ways i feel bad about the whole situation, but there is absolutely no justification for what she did. i will not be held guilty for getting her fired or ruining her career as some people have felt the need to accuse me of.
