I am debating between purchasing a new set of pots and pans or an eye exam and two new pairs of glasses.  This is, of course, assuming that the birthday money my aunt is sending me is really the $100 I think it is.  My pots and pans are five and half years old and completely scratched up.  It grosses me out to cook in them.  Danial bought me a set ( Read more... )

ok, this is a rare thing for me, but I'm going to advise you NOT to buy any more books! You have plenty that you haven't read, and you don't need to blow $50 that way. Instead of fixating on certain books, go to a used bookstore...

I haven't heard anything about your need for an eye exam, so I'm not sure how badly you need it, but I would imagine you could wait until you have health insurance (or has yours just kicked in?) The pots and pans seem like a great idea, but do you really need a whole set?

I thought so. : ) You're right, of course, about the books. *sigh* I'm so compulsive. I can't control myself. Well, I can, but where's the satisfaction in that?

As for my eyes, I don't really NEED an eye exam and new glasses, but it's been four years since my last one and I'm paranoid that my glasses will break and I'll be up shit creek. Plus, I REALLY want sunglasses, and this deal will get me an exam, and two pairs of glasses for $130.00. And then I vacillate and want contact lenses, but I don't know how much those are....the medical insurance does not cover vision....

And the pots - what I need are three saute pans and three sauce pans of various sizes. I really don't need another big stock pot, but all the rest I do need. However, you know I will be able to survive without them. Mom says they go on sale and drop to below $100; I'd just have to keep an eye out.

I guess I'll just put it in the bank, or maybe buy a potted plant....
