Today is lovely.  Clear skies, no breeze.  It's a little cold, not quite 50ºF, but I'm happy with it.  My tomato plant is thriving, though I think I need to re-pot it in a larger pot with more soil.  My flowers, my dahlias and one plant with small yellow blossoms that I fell in love with and have now forgotten its name, are opening quickly to sun ( Read more... )

why do you need to create some master illusion to keep his ego afloat and convince him that he did a dandy job with the woldflowers when YOU are the one reading the books and the resident expert on things that grow? Sounds like you think it's really cute to act like that, but it seems somewhat patronizing to him at the same time.

Did I miss the part where you mentioned your concerns about the big holes as he was putting them into the ground, or afterwards when he was expressing his worry and interest? You should GUIDE him.... not do everything for him (correctly) and (incorrectly) credit him (for the bit of initiative he took)
