Usually I come home to find a pile of papers on our dining room table.  It's the day's mail, yesterday's mail, receipts, occasionally a book.  I look through the pile, scanning for bills, for postcards, for cards from distant lands, and once a month I find a magazine.  D thinks I have too many magazine subscriptions, but I love them.  He thinks I ( Read more... )

how could you possibly consider your desires trite? that's so sad... you always seem to go in this cycle with yourself (I do the same), in which you convince yourself that your feelings are justified, or that you are OK... Once you have an "acceptable" explanation for things, you can calm down a bit:) I have long done the same -- and eventually I hope that you come to TRUST yourself, TRUST your instincts... stop second-guessing yourself (it is crippling)....

I like your rationale about the "homeland" :) And this is an extremely intimate and fascinating description of your relationship to your Sunset magazine. You should write more on it... imagine you had to write an entire paper on it. Use this as a prompt, mine your soul for even more detail -- it is delicious!!
