I Got Off The Phone Quickly

Kate called me last night and somehow we got around to her social life.  She told me that she's been bringing one or two of her friends over to Grandpa's house late at night, like, 11:00 and later, to make cookies or to get pizza, drink beer and watch movies.

It wasn't the late at night part that bothered me, or the beer, but her bringing random

I think you are right to question how it makes him feel, that being the most important thing. Asking him is a great idea, though I imagine he probably doesn't care all that much, certainly not enough to make a fuss over. I doubt she's trashing the place or doing anything terribly inappropriate (if she was having sex on the couch, I would take issue with it:)

I appreciate reading how you feel about it and questioning why... I think there are definite jealousy issues at work here that you should dig into. Don't you wish you were living at Gpa's house, able to bring friends over late at night to chill out and relax somewhere you all feel comfortable? Someplace that feels like home?
