As my first step towards moving, I took care of the massive stack of paper that had been inhabiting the lower shelf of my bookcase. 
It was mostly innocuous - paid bills, printed articles waiting to be read, recipes, more paid bills - but it was out of control.  I am a stacker.  Just stick it in a pile and I'll put it away later.  It works that way ( Read more... )

it's amazing how good it feels to tackle a sizeable stack to feel lighter!! your 3 books look so lovely:) - but should you really be adding to your collection (that you will have to get rid of?)?

No getting rid of books this time, unless they are the five or so that I don't want (stupid John Grisham, Ken Follett). Most of everything else is going - furniture, appliances, kick-knacks. I have many more stacks of paper to take care of, but now instead of feeling overwhelmed, I feel empowered.
