On the Fly
About this time of winter, every year for the past three or four years, I become obsessed with gardening. Completely obsessed. Confession
Okay, I'll admit it.
The snow was pretty this morning.
There, I said it.
It snowed a lot last night, maybe 5 or 6 inches. The temperature was right around freezing, so the snow periodically morphed into hail, or into mist, and then back into snow. Consequently the snow that fell on the ground was heavy and sticky, nothing like the light fluffy stuff ( Read more... ) -
Today
I was pleasantly surprised this morning when I looked out my window at 6:30 to find my street hidden under dense fog. The combination of fog and mountains of dirty snow was an interesting sight, something new to my eyes. It does not get foggy here very often, so every time it does I feel like I've been given a little treat, a little taste of home ( Read more... ) -

It has been two weeks since I've posted an entry here at livejournal. I complain to myself day after day that my friends don't post enough, don't write enough, and here I am committing the same crime. A Sugar Maple Correction
When I wrote the entry about my grandfather's trees last Friday, I was picturing a different tree: one that has not fallen victim to termites and insurance companies.
