Today's date is a palindrome. :D
Quick post, because it's technically almost tomorrow. Thank you College, now I can't go to sleep before 1 am...
This one was kind of difficult too, but I've decided on Le Fableux Destin d'Amélie Poulain, directed by Jean-Pierre Jeunet. The first time that I saw it was in my French class in 8th grade with Mme. Rinkie-Hammar (who, ironically enough, is actually German. She speaks like 7 different languages!). At the time, this movie was the most nudity my weak, sheltered 13-year-old eyes had seen, so I was all like, "HJDSAILVBEHFWJACBHFJDSCEWR THAT OLD COUPLE IS HAVING SEX ON A TABLE". Sad. Oh, how things have changed...
THIS MOVIE IS REALLY FUCKING ADORABLE. I DON'T THINK YOU UNDERSTAND. IT MAKES ME WANT TO HUG STRANGERS.
It's basically about people that go out of their way to help others, but end up not being able to go after the things that they want for themselves. Also, it's really fucking adorable. The score was written by Yann Tiersen, and is quite possibly my favorite movie soundtrack ever. It's SO DAMN FRENCH, I LOVE IT! Did I mention that this movie is reeeeeeeeally a-fucking-dorable? And it has really clever writing!
I don't think that the entire movie is actually on youtube, but there's the beginning, in which you can at least get a taste of the cleverness and awesome soundtrack-ness and THE FUCKING ADORABLE-NESS!! ♥
Speaking of fantastic movies, Inglourious Basterds is incredible. I didn't think it was possible, but that may have been the best Tarantino movie I've ever seen.
I'm off to pack to go back to BSC. *handwave*
