The Swiss have comprehensively rejected a plan put forward by the Trade-Unions, the Greens and the Socialists to prohibit anyone in a company being paid more than 12x the lowest-paid employee.

A lot of places that have passed such measures have had such difficulty in finding anyone to take those kinds of executive jobs. I remember the company Ben 'n Jerry's took a long long time to find a new CEO to manage the company under those kinds of pay conditions.

I'd be all for such a law. But I think 12x is a bit low. 20x would be a good line.
