Yet another fine guessture by the school district to sever us all better

I had planned to go back to school this fall, and I'd basically decided to go Mondays and Wednesdays, taking one class in the morning and one in the afternoon. But then I got a notice in the mail that the school district, in its unfinite wisdom, has decided to start all middle and high schools 20 minutes later on Wednesdays, with a 10 minute delay

Sorry you are going through this. Honestly, ,this is one of the biggest reasons we keep homeschooling. We want OUR life - not the one the school system determines that we should have. Not everyone can and should homeschool, and I do not fault anyone for not choosing it for any reason at all, but you have stated just one strong reason many choose the option. Schools are no longer institutions of education- they are the Gestapo for the lifestyle of the nation. Socialization is one argument people give for enrollment, but what they get is a police state that tells them where to co, when to go and just how appropriate it is to notice the scenery.
