Houston, we have a solution

I believe I have pinpointed the source of the negative sentiment I mentioned in my last open post, although I was quite surprised by it, to say the least. Probably because I obviously don't spend enough time online, let alone here on planet blog. So I evidently missed a lot of alleged sentiment such as caring, or what I can only guess was intended ( Read more... )

Hoping to be accepted into The Fellowship justplaintam August 23 2008, 21:33:27 UTC
Hmmmm, the above definitely sounds like something I'm probably better off keeping my distance from, unless you tell me otherwise.

This "Fellowship" idea intrigues me, though. Would I be eligible for membership, based on my DH's former status as "the prince of light"? Please let me know...

{{{{{Tami}}}} You are absolutely eligible, given both that he was the "prince of light", plus it is my understanding that you were also a part of the "kingdom of light" yourself. Weren't you? In any case, though, since you have proven yourself to be truly among the select chosen few, you are indeed eligible for membership, and welcome aboard.

LOVE your bio, by the way! :-)

I agree with Tami about the above, but please count me in on this "Fellowship," too, since I'm what you'd call a reformed cutter-in-law. Not sure whether that's what you mean, but I can hope, can't I?

Let me know, so I can hit on my husband for money for a new outfit for the first meeting,

{{{{{{Amy}}}}} Right on the money, and I couldn't even imagine a secret society without my old partner in crime. But only if you bring your old "axe." Mine's down, it's got some return spring problems, plus it looks like it needs repadding, and I'd hate like hell to think how much it could end up costing.

And hit on your husband for money for a new outfit for me, too, would you? I think mine's afraid a fin or so would make me crazy mean these days. Sort of like when you throw a rabid dog a rawhide chew, and he rabids all over it....

Let's see if that one rings a bell for you...

Bitter much? ;-) albobaggins August 24 2008, 02:24:25 UTC
Sounds like you're seriously not happy with someone, I can only guess at who it is, but I'm glad it doesn't seem to be me.

This "Fellowship" idea interests me, too, and as you can see, I'm already dressed for it. Is there room in there for a weird old hobbit? LOL

I can remember a time when my life seemed to kind of revolve around register marks, which now that you mention it, do sort of look like "the precious"

Waiting to hear from you as to whether I can join or not,
Al

{{{{{Al}}}} Of course there's room for you, especially with all the time you spent running "The Pressioussssssss"!

I absolutely love your name, and your bio, and welcome aboard. :-)

I'm not sure if you'd even remember me littlefrodo August 24 2008, 02:28:30 UTC
I figured this would be a good name for me, since I'm a younger "relative" (by marriage, not blood, though) of Albo. Since you don't really know me, I won't be upset if you don't want me to join, but I would be interested in keeping in touch with any of you. I miss some of you something awful. :-)

{{{{{{Frodooooooooo!}}}}}} I'd love you to join! No, I've never gotten the chance to really know you very well, but I do know Albo well enough, and understand you to be his primary source of strength, inspiration, etc. And I've always wished I'd been able to get to know you better.

Plus it seems to me that for quite awhile after I left the scene, you singlehandedly staffed "Mt. Doom" while your sister took time out to be a mommy...

Speaking of her, how on earth is she these days? And her DH? Who I always thought was a really nice guy who was never really given a fair shake by the PTB, at least not while I was there.

Welcome aboard, great to have you here!

Maybe I better explain this one antwisegamgee August 24 2008, 02:35:21 UTC
It's me, Tony. This would have worked better if Dildo didn't decide to be Albo, but go with Frodo instead, since him and Sam were about as close as me and Al. But hell, if he wants me to get cozy with Little Frodo there, it's fine with me.

Never mind, Amy would kill me, LOL.

In any case, is there room in there for me? I did a lot of time answering to register marks years ago, too.

Let me know,
Tony
