Are all banks from some other planet, or is it just mine?

DH and I have been banking at TCF for years now, and the only way he'd ever change something like that is if the bank got nuked or went out of business or something. So I'm not even going to worry about "our" joint checking, to which I haven't seen the checkbook in a loooooooong time anyways. He can choke on it, for all I care ( Read more... )

Unfortunately, a lot of banks have crap practices. Don't just let it 'ride' that will severely mess with oobles credit. Ask the gardener on that one. That is really crap what your lovely hubby did over and over again. Yeah, soapbox as he may be, he do have a special place in hell.

Don't give in to the temptation on that one, kiddo. You know better. All you'll end up doing is screwing up the kid's credit rating and your own. Are you gonna sit there and tell me you can afford to risk that one at this point, when it could end up your best and only real friend sometime in the (hopefully) near future when you actually go to make a move. Think of me as your long lost big brother all these years, who still won't hesitate to come down there and beat the crap out of you if I have to.:-P

This sounds like the kid who least needs something like that to happen to her. Lean on her boss to fix it, with the fees she got socked with, or if worst comes to worst, squeeze it out of your husband. Wouldn't he at least help his own kid out of trouble she never caused that far? If not, give us a call, we could float you a loan or something. But in any case, change banks. We dumped TCF awhile ago after they changed hands. Twin City Federal, based in Minnesota? Ha. Then why do you get Joe Bob in Calcutta anytime you call customer service? Yet another homegrown business taken over by a hostile foreign presence that won't show their faces for fear we'd learn their true identity.

And I know full well Merry's going to give me hell for my paranoia about foreign politics. Sorry, folks, it's scary, and there's nothing about the upcoming election that eases my mind one bit. Everybody put your head between your knees and start kissing everything you're close to goodbye right now, it proves to get ugly no matter what...

{{{{{Mega}}}}} I'm afraid he does. You've got to do whatever you can to get this straightened out as soon as possible, so you don't trash both of your credit ratings over it. Especially hers, because it sounds like that's the last thing she needs right now. Oy, what a week, huh?

As soon as you get it cleared up, though, definitely find another bank. I agree with you 100 percent, posted is supposed to mean final, a done deal, no refunds, engraved in stone, there's no undoing it now. If you wanted to undo it, you should have caught it while it was pending...
