50 ways to fill an iPod...

My son recently upgraded to an iPod Classic, which now sports 120 (!) gigabytes. And at first he was being picky, going through all of our music collections and hand-picking songs that he wants on there. Then he decided, hell, he could fit every single music file we've got between us on the computer onto the sucker, and still have room to spare. So ( Read more... )

That is just too dang funny. Gotta love what the new techy 'toys' are doing for the music choices in the youngin's these days. The berry was seriously considering doing tryouts for the musical Cinderella (I believe) Rogers & Hamerstein version with a song from Weird AL. I think that would have been priceless myself. Too funny about the whole Buddha thing. I can relate to the whole disturbing concept quite well about your kid being able to name that tune faster than you can especially when it's music you used to know in your sleep with your ears taped to the back of you head. It's just not right I tell you. Let's pass judgement and let the others decide if the puppy should hide frozen poop in their pockets or something like that. LOL.

Tell your son that I resemble that remark! I AM Buddha, dangit, and I've got both the belly and the hairline to prove it! And I can say with an absolute certenty that Les Paul and Mary Ford songs very definitely predate me!

:::still snickering at your son telling his friends that, that's too funny!:::

...reminds me of a comment my father made years ago --- "When you hear Led Zeppelin instrumental covers on the easy listening stations, YOU WILL KNOW YOU ARE OLD!"

Well said, Legolyas, but I have to add that Kidz Bop covers also qualify...

Has anyone other than me noticed that The Loop, which used to play all cutting edge rock, now focuses a whole lot on Classic Rock, playing THE SAME DAMNED SONGS?

I still can't get over the whole concept of carting around your entire music collection in a little handheld gizmo about the size and weight of a deck of cards.

How many of us can remember the good old days, when carting around your entire music collection would have involved strapping one of those old cabinet stereos on your back and loading up a little red wagon full of a hundred or so albums (Yes, son, those black vinyl frisbees), and carting it down the block? Likely chased by the men in white?

Or when we used to go online with two tin cans and a string? ;-P
