I visited your website and this book looks very interesting. Is it necessary to have read The Lost Tomb of Alexander the Great to understand this one?

Hi Allie,
The material covered in The Lost Tomb of Alexander the Great is also incorporated in The Quest for the Tomb of Alexander the Great, but with more detail and various updates including several new chapters, since my investigation has evolved a lot in the past few years. Consequently, it is not at all necessary to have read The Lost Tomb and you only need to get The Quest to find out everything!
Best wishes,
Andrew

Just took a look at your community. As a Mary Renault fan myself, I was intrigued and have applied for membership. If approved, I shall happily post my book announcement myself. Actually, one of my other books, Alexander's Lovers, may be of even greater relevance to your community btw.
Best wishes,
Andrew

I've just bought the book and I'm about to read it.
I read also the other one and I found it very interesting.
I'd like to knoe if there is a slight possibility to do new tests on St. Mark's mummy and see whether he's really the saint or not...

Tests on the remains taphoi March 16 2008, 13:13:53 UTC
Hi Diamantea,

There is a lot of new information in the last few chapters of my new book which relates to your question. There is no imminent sign of testing of the remains in San Marco being permitted, but I now believe that tests may not be necessary to identify the corpse as Alexander or rule him out. This is because Alexander's corpse should have healed wound damage in the chest area and to one of his shin bones. Therefore mere inspection of the remains may be sufficient. The Church is said occasionally to have opened the sarcophagus to inspect the remains, most recently in the 1950's.

There will probably be more exciting news on my research in a couple of months time. Keep checking the Latest News section on my website at www.alexanderstomb.com

Happy reading and very best wishes,

Andrew
