If anyone is interested, I've started a small community for Greek and Roman art, particularly sculpture - the sort of things that Alexander would have been familiar with. It's called greek_art if you'd like to take a look.
Lovely photographs - I shall look forward to seeing more. I have a few myself, taken at the Metropolitan Museum, including one of a huge bust of Zeus Ammon which belonged to a private collector and has since been returned to him. Would you like me to post some of them (probably after the holidays)? That is if I can figure out *how* to post photographs. :-)
Thank you, that would be absolutely fabulous! Someone recently showed me how to preserve decent-sized pictures in lj. Firstly upload your pictures into lj scrapbook, right click on the picture you want to post and highlight and copy the url. Paste this url into the box that comes up when you want to insert an image into your post. Remove the sizing from the url ie the last slash onwards. Then put a width in the box lower down (700 is about right). Taking out the sizing in the url stops the image being pixilated when you try to enlarge it. Hope you can understand that!
