Sometimes I really wish I had just stayed at OCU. I mean, I enjoy my current program of study, and I'm definitely glad I met Dan. But I miss Oklahoma so so so much. I miss my Oklahoma friends. i feel really bad about not getting to see you. everyone that i work with decided they needed to be away from work so i practically lived at the yarn store until x-mas eve. i'm sorry we didn't get together.
i miss you!!
i just got your voicemail and i just about called you back... then i thought, it's almost 8am there... that's a little early for ringing phones. SOOOOO, call me when you want orrrrr email me at ikitten at gmail dot com and i'll give you my address. i need yours in return too!
i'm really bad at phone. i'm okay at email. but i'm pretty good at letters. i write back when i get one. i'm kind of a lousy long-distance friend (which is bad because two of my favourite people are in lands far far away).
i guess i should go update my journal.

My suggestion would be to do your best to be where you want to be, and do what you want to do. It doesn't have to be a complete compromise of just one or the other. Although I can fully understand when it has to be that way. But like a song that I recently heard "The Way Things Go," is just a fact of life. I am sorry to hear of your hurting. Take care and I hope you feel better!
As a mention, the way I have tried tackling this problem is by keeping up with LJ, facebook, and even instant messenger pals from time to time. It can help to get a short injection of friends. =) Sometimes it drives me nuts waiting from somebody to provide an update though. lol Hopefully this will help you too. ^_^
