Stressed

I have unofficially withdrawn from my Senior Seminar class, I have to go re-withdraw as I put the wrong course number down on the sheet. So I have officially withdrawn from a class that doesn't exist! At first I was very upset with myself for not being able to handle the course load, but after a few days, I see it's for the best. ...everybody feels helpless at some time or another and everybody has to be vulnerable at some time or another. It's good to be independent and everything - absolutely, but when it starts getting to the point where that strive is choking the life out of you, time to do what you're doing. You don't need to be superwoman to be respected by yourself and others. And asking for help is not a sin; it's only a sin when it's over-abused, which is so far from your character it's not even funny. You're the one who's always helping everybody else out.

Everybody needs help. Everybody. It's okay to feel vulnerable; it actually adds quality to your life, because that's one of the things that's kind of central to trusting in loving relationships and what not. Don't be afraid to ask for help. Don't be afraid to not be superwoman just to appease the rest of the world and other outside, sometimes ominous pressures. It's not worth it. It's your goddamn life; live it at your own pace, and if you need a hand, just holla! :o)

Yeah, I agree with Cindi. I have a few withdrawals on my record. Let's see, I withdrew from a Symbolic Logic class and I withdrew from Microeconomics. It's a perfectly reasonable course of action sometimes. You should not feel crappy about it. Everyone has to learn their limits. I went back and took both Logic and Econ under less stressful circumstances and did fine. And I'm sure you'd do fine in that seminar with a more reasonable courseload. Or perhaps, the subject matter just doesn't motivate you, which is another problem I had with econ and logic.
