Is it wrong to wish that I still lived in Virginia so that I could have experienced this??? Cause I kinda wish I did. I must be a thrill seeker or something.
Actually, it seems as if it was significant quake, but not so much to cause any real damage. So if I ever had to experience an earthquake, that would be the kind I would want.
I'm glad you made it through okay.
All of my friends back home have complained that the commute this evening was hell. I hope your hubby is able to get home soon. :-) *hugs*
Well, I can sort of understand your curiosity. Sort of... But if you think a mild earthquake like this one is a thrilling experience, think again. What it is, is a major headache. Literally! It rattles your brain insides your skull, and it messes up with your balance (if you're standing up) - and you need to pop tylenols like candy afterwards. Think of riding one of those bumper cars, and the shock of impact with other cars - only several times harder. That's about it.
Hubby made it home ok. He came on one of the very first trains after the quake, as I was concerned both about aftershocks, and about commuter panic. So I insisted. :-) He worked from home for the rest of the day.
