I've had a few good writing days, and managed to more-or-less make up for the first week, during which I spent more time soaking in the view, and soaking myself in the pool - than actually writing.
Sometimes I think of this as writing my book, and other times as wasting a perfectly good vacation. Who knows what anyone else will think of my scribbles? But I promised myself I'll get it out of my system!
Yes, Kate, that's what a good friend would do! Thank you for your support. I've been gritting my teeth and enduring. Once in a while it becomes too much, and then I just snap and take a dive in the pool. Or take a walk outside the village so I can endure even better views of the Luberon. But, little by little, I got used to my terrible writing conditions, and made some progress despite all the obstacles.

I suppose, if it gets too distracting, you can always just move inside somewhere that's a bit boring, if necessary ;-)
Still, I'm thrilled that you get to be there and do this, and hope it works out well for your writing, regardless of your location!
