Id have to agree, the threat of surprise upon the elevator door is too great. Do you really want to take that risk? I also hate being trapped in small surroundings with people, who have the potential to become zombies at any moment and feast on my flesh. On the stairs you move at your own pace and rarely do rampaging rotting beasts have a chance to trap you in a box, you can always kick them back down the stairs.

Hah, zombie velociraptors, I can take a dozen of them on a bad day. It's when the giant laser eyed dormice attack that I start worrying, especially if they team up with the squirrel ninjas...

Too much Dino Crisis?

And you wouldn't survive the first raptor.

Lately, I've been living at my local climbing gym. Climbing is better than most exercise because most exercise is tedious and repetitive but climbing is like puzzle solving while you get a workout. Seriously, climbing is sooooo much fun and I'm getting fuckin' ripped doing it.

I think the nearest gym to you would be the Great Western Power Company in downtownish Oakland, 19th/Telegraph. You can do what I did: get a friend one day and just show up, plunk down for a day pass and shoe/harness rental and check the website so you can go at the belay class time and just do it. Conversely, you could call me and meet me down there sometime and I could teach you and stuff.

But seriously. Climbing is great.
