Every spark of friendship and love will die without a home.

One of the roughest times in my life was probably when I first moved to Florida with my parents. It was the first time I can really say my life got turned completely upside down. I knew the move was coming, it wasn't a huge surprise. But we uprooted quickly and before I knew it, we were living there. And I wasn't very happy about it. For the first ( Read more... )

I read this entire thing backwards. I don't know why, but it worked out. I had a similiar sitation growing up, I was uprooted from schools. My parents sent me to private school in New Hampshire while everyone else stayed in Connecticut. I'm pretty much a loner anyway, but that doesn't mean it was any easier. Good thing I moved to LA for school, otherwise I'd probably be the unibomber. ;)

Weirdo! Oh my god, you went to a private school? That must have been hell. You are a loner, you're even sort of a social shut-in most of the time. Which is only a little better than being a uni-bomber because I can't say for sure that you're not getting high and secretly planning some kind of world take-over. ;)

I actually had to look it up before I used it, I never knew what it meant but it fit, so shut up. Also, ASS. I should have known there was some motive for trying to talk me out of walking at night, I'm making it too easy for you to kill me. Duh.

I hate how it takes you ten years to reply to comments and you look like Linda Cardellini in that icon

Where did you live in Florida? I miss living there.

We'll deal with next month when it happens, the best we can.

I lived in Port St. Lucie for probably half of my young adulthood. It's the only other place I really consider home, even though I never was that crazy about it, I did go through a lot there, all my best awkwardness, real dating, my first real job, I'm still banned from the Wal-Mart there. I don't know if I could ever live there again but it'll always be a part of my life.

We will, I'm betting on it.

i think parents don't realize the pressure on kids to make friends, and kids don't realize how important their studies and lessons are. it never seems to resolve itself.

It's just something you have to work out by yourself, or that's what I ended up doing. Because neither myself or my parents were all that willing to see things from the other side and I was as stubborn back then as I am now, so. I really had to take it on myself to figure out how to deal with it. But it all worked out. I still have issues because of it, but that's just life.

I think we all need something to do when we get stressed or even just to clear our heads. I've had insomnia for as long as I can remember, so I'm constantly up doing things at night when everyone else is sleeping. I've gone on many walks myself. Sometimes you've got to change your surroundings to fit you instead of worrying so much to fit into them.

You really could not have said it better with that last line, that's exactly how it is. Because a lot of the time there is no other way to adjust to things, there's only so many ways you can bend to things. Some things are just better done while everyone is sleeping, I think. I like the silence of everything sleeping when I'm out wandering around, the peace of it is unlike anything.
