California is a very pleasant place, but somehow, I find myself ready to return home. I do not understand why people seem so shocked when I hold the door open for a girl or when I bow to greet or thank someone. Cultures are different, and it is only with understanding can we embrace them, but normality is something I find myself missing

People can sometimes be narrow-minded and enclosed only to the mores and ways of living that they have grown accustomed to. It is expected that the striking difference between our culture and theirs would surprise them.
