lol in the two places I've posted this it's been unanimous that I (yes, me, lol if that wasn't obvious enough) did not make an uncharitable decision.
I do believe in intuition in the sense that we take in a lot more information than we realize, and we react based on that. Something about this guy was just all wrong. When he asked me for a ride it kind of sounded like he was taunting me.
I walked away from the incident tempted to feel guilty, but I really just felt like I protected my safety.
The uncharitable thing is all the people who have been given rides and then robbed the person who gave them the ride. If it wasn't for them, this young woman could have given the man a ride without fear. He may well have been honest and safe. But because other people have done the wrong thing and created an atmosphere where it is dangerous to trust, she can't give this man a ride...
