Every time a money-hungry corporation wants to ruin the internet for profit, I question what in the hell they're smoking, and what the FCC would have to be smoking to let this shit fly.
I always imagine that there's no way it can work in the long-run, but then again it's worked for so many other things before the internet, so it's kinda hard to say.
On one hand the internet is made up of angry people who will bitch and moan until the natural order is restored. On the other those people are also lazy motherfuckers who may just ultimately go 'eh, what can you do?' And either roll with it or exploit loopholes. Exploiting loopholes seems to be what the internet is made of.
THEN AGAIN I'm totally talking out of my ass and probably shouldn't be doing that at this hour. Sound enough like an idiot as-is.
I'm in a state of "This is horrible and I don't like it, but can it even work in practice and do we really have anything to worry about?" So, while not on the fence per-say, I have no idea how I really feel. I am kinda sorta not an expert on this shit.
Kinda why I said 'discuss' so I can have it explained to me like the simpleton I am.
