Music theory

I have now finished an 8 week course in music theory. Some parts were refreshers, I had taken school choir in 7th, 8th and 9th grade. But, a lot of it was new to me. With the final goal being the ability to sight read music. I can't say I can do that quickly, but I have a working knowledge of it. So glad to hear you had such fun in the class and that it was so profitable to you. One of my abiding regrets about my mangled visit to McAlester is that I didn't get to hear you play!

Learning is just a tub of fun, I can see why Barbara at 84 always has a class lined up that she's going to take while she's in Canada over the summer. May we all be like that at that age. :-)

I have a theory--or maybe I heard it from somebody once--that music is like D&D, in that you get experience points, and the more experience points you get, the easier it is to pick up new musical skills. So you're building up your levels right now, and when they get high enough through classes and practice, bam! All will become clear! :-)

Up
