So...as an early graduation present, my mommy has agreed to buy me a digital camera of my choice (within reason). However, I am having trouble picking one. Any suggestions kiddos? I'm sure you guys can help.

Everyone really likes mine, the Canon Powershot S1IS, but they've upgraded it to the s2IS, and it's very slick, about $300 though.

Yeah, I would say the canon powershot series is a really good value for the money, plus theyre easy to use.

watch this website for a week or two, and theres usually a pretty good deal to come up.

Hahaha, puny mortals with your point-and-shoot digital cameras! I could recommend one (I just bought a Canon Digital Rebel XT), but it's professional grade and cost $900...dunno if you can handle that much power, little lady. :p

Short answer: for people who aren't photography geeks, I have no clue.

I got a Kodak digital camera last year. It works well, and the pictures look hott, but it goes through batteries way too quickly. But then, I think that's something that all digital cameras do.

i have a canon powershot A75.. i think there are several versions of the powershot, and all of them are pretty reasonable for a simple digital camera. the quality of mine isn't the highest quality that say kim would want, but it's not shabby either. i'm pretty sure mine was around $200.
