LOL...Thank you Meg, your entry made my day. Especially the illustrations. You guys are so cute it's frightening. And CONGRATULATIONS!!!! That trip sounds AWESOME!!!! Throw a thong at Jon Stewart for me, k?
but now i have to pick the technical aspect. Why a bitmap? it didn't even come out of the camera bmp, and you do know that just slows load times and you're going out of your way to do it. And the only thing you can do worse for the quality than using inappropriate formats is to specify the pixel size different from the original picture, which you did. why? See those little vertical discontinuities? yeah, that's from you messing it up horribly. come on meg, you should have much higher expectations out of yourself.
I don't know....I wanted to crop it...and then I needed someplace to put it and the fastest way I know how to do that is my unity space...and it was still kinda big for lj...so I just specified the pixel size. How should I do it Mr. Computer?
firstly, save as, and then pick the format underneith the file name. But you don't even have to do that unless you do something crazy like copy the pic from another application and past it onto a new canvas (b/c it was jpeg to start out with).
and paint has an image-->resize option. It works the best of any of the tools you got.
