You should go! It's really not too expensive to get up there, but I don't recommend driving because 1. parking is a bitch and 2. they drive so crazy up there. But it would be a great trip for the kids!
Well, I have to say, without lunch this won't do! Just kidding... I'm sorry that it didn't turn out as well as it should have been, but at least you know you can have fun alone in NYC. Considering your plans for the upcoming year, that's got to give you a feeling of relief!!
