.character information
.full name: Megatron
.universe: G1
.affiliation: Decepticon
.alt mode: Modified Walther P38 pistol.
.abilities: Extremely powerful, Megatron is unmatched in battle - save for Optimus Prime. As a requirement of this, he is also quite intelligent, able to come up with creative battle strategies on the spur of the moment.
When transforming to his alt mode, Megatron can shrink to comfortably fit into another Transformer’s hands, or even those of a human. He usually requires someone to aim and fire him when in gun form; in this form he can deliver more focused energy blasts.
.weapons: Megatron’s primary weapon is his incredibly powerful fusion cannon mounted on his right arm.
He is also able to produce an energy flail from his right arm for melee combat.
.personality: Megatron is an aggressive megalomaniac, extremely ruthless in his quest for power. He rules by terror, and will not hesitate to punish his subordinates at any hint of treachery or otherwise; though he rewards those who serve him well.
Often overconfident, he will attempt almost anything if it serves his goals in the long run; because of this, his plans are regularly unsubtle. He believes humans, and most, if not all, other species to be inferior lifeforms, and will not hesitate to crush them if they dare stand in his way. Megatron tends to lead by example, frequently the first to head into battle, though as soon as the advantage is lost he has no qualms about calling a retreat.
Megatron does possess a sense of honour, though it surfaces rarely and usually only when concerning his equal-in-battle: Optimus Prime, for which he has a grudging respect.
.roleplay sample:
“DECEPTICONS! Gather ‘round!” Megatron grunted as he drove his fist into the metal shaft; it buckled under the blow, and oil began to spurt from the cracked pipe. “Fill the cubes.”
He stood back to watch as the oil leak turned into a torrent, coating the deck of the floating rig platform in a slick spill that fell away into the surrounding ocean.
A grin crossed his face; the plan was coming along nicely. No sign of the Autobots, and even if they did decide to interfere, the Decepticon leader would have plenty of warning; he had a clear view of the horizon from every direction.
Megatron turned to face the area of the rig where the humans had scampered off to upon their arrival. A few fearful faces peered out from behind tiny windows, curiosity keeping them frozen in place. Megatron casually swung his cannon arm in their general direction, smirking as the humans dived over themselves in their desperation to escape. Such pathetic, cowardly creatures. Still, they provided some cheap amusement.
“Ugh! Skywarp…get off!”
The unmistakable screech of Megatron’s second-in-command grabbed his attention. Turning back to the broken shaft, he frowned at the sight of the two seekers scrabbling in the oil. Skywarp had apparently slipped in the slick, pushing Starscream face-first into the oil bursting from the pipe.
Megatron stormed over, wrenching Starscream out by the leg and sending him sliding over the surface of the deck.
“Imbeciles! Stop fooling around and get back to work! I want this whole platform stacked with energon!”
After glowering at Megatron, Starscream transformed as the Decepticons prepared the energon cubes for transport back to base; Skywarp roughly loaded a few cubes beneath his undercarriage. Megatron watched him closely as he taxied away from the pile of energon, his engine roaring…surely he wasn’t-
Starscream suddenly fired his thrusters, catching Skywarp in the blast as he shot from the platform. Skywarp yelled as the traces of oil still covering his plating caught alight; luckily he was some distance from the rest of the oil, just as long as he didn’t do anything stupid…
“SKYWARP YOU FOOL! Get away from there!” Megatron roared, as the burning seeker dropped to the deck and began rolling in an attempt to extinguish the flames. A thin rivulet of oil trickling from the burst shaft caught fire as Skywarp rolled over it, and the flame quickly chased the liquid until the fire was dangerously close to the stacked cubes. The Decepticons scattered, and a few optics turned to Megatron. He scowled at the realisation that retrieving the filled energon cubes was now too risky an exercise.
“Retreat!” He called belatedly. Raking a hand over his face, he turned to Skywarp, annoyed but not surprised at the fact he needed instruction. “Skywarp, get in the water.”
Taking to the sky, the Decepticon leader growled in frustration as he watched the precious energy be consumed by flames. He noted Starscream’s absence; he would deal with the seeker personally when he got back to base. It did not help Megatron’s mood in the least to see that Skywarp seemed to enjoy watching the spectacle as he bobbed in the waves.
As the sun set, Megatron lead the way back to base.
There would always be tomorrow.
