Speaking as someone who watched this show from Day 1 when it would premiere weekly and I looked forward to EVERY SHOWING, I can say YES. YES IT WAS. By year 3 I was ~aching for them to finally admit their love! But it was a fantastic progression. Season 1 C/A makes me so happy because he's still so shut off and she's so... Cordy and by the season finale it's clear they've become more than coworkers. Not even lovers yet, just ~family and it was so lovely. I loved the bond they had over the sharing of Doyle's death and the subtle growth from there. Just, so much guh.

I hate what they did to Cordelia's character in Season Four. I hate that they treated her so poorly and she didn't get to really say goodbye to everyone. it breaks my heart.

Season 3 was just... gah! Amazing. I think I'm going to block out season 4 and pretend everyone lived happily ever after. Much easier on the heart.
