"i think people in general, and definitely me included, try so hard to fill up all their time with activity after activity after activity such that they're always doing something to avoid having to deal with themselves. whenever i get to thinking, about myself in particular, it gets scary. and shit like that."
so, so true. That basically explains life as a whole--you know, why people with grueling 9 to 5 jobs are probably far more sane than people who live off their art (whether they struggle for success or not), simply because they're not faced with themselves on a regular basis. But then again, is sanity really a priority... Last year I tended to shun a lot of common college activities (attending sports games, going outside to play random sports all the time, working out--I guess most everything athletic) just because none of that really interested me or made me happy...and yet I went crazy half the time I was in college writing in my spontaneous caffeine-induced journal. So which is better, you know?
yeah, i'm just so glad someone gets what i'm talking about and feels that too. i'm tempted to say it's better just to fuck all the meaningless shit and face yourself. so power to ya!!
yeah, well that's partly true-- but only the more popular stuff on my list. but still, it pisses me off to no end when people with really, really shitty taste in music listen to good shit. bah.
