Only Six Days

Only six days left in the month; hence only six days left of NaBloPoMo. Can you tell I'm stretching for an entry today? Well, might have something tomorrow. Right now I'm just brain dead. At least there's chili tonight.

Here's one I've seen around that you might try (and I might, too, if I can't think of more things to say about kohlrabi, or my new job:) What are your comfort reading books?

Oh, that's interesting. First, I'd have to define what comfort reading is for me. Is it going back to something familiar the way comfort food is? Or is it just a certain type of reading? I thyink we should do this, but, as your plate is full for December (and I'm supposed to be goofing off), can we try for it sometime in January?

Yes, it's the books we go back to over and over again. Mine are easy - either Swordspoint or The Privilege of the Sword by Ellen Kushner. And it wasn't meant to be a long meme (I don't think) just a suggestion for if you came out short of topics.

paranoidangel42 and I are thinking of doing NaBloPoMo some other month than November next year, since (according to the website) it's a year-round thing. November is hard for her; as for me with my new, completely stress-free job, I have all kinds of flexibility. I'll let you know what month we pick to see if it works for you. I could maybe even do November again as well - at least I know I'll have my birthday, Hershey, and Blacksburg to talk about.

Ah, it would be a real short mem with me as I don't do that much rereading. I did make a point of rereading Lord of the Rings and have read The Hobbitt multiple times, but even those are quite a while back. I guess if I'm likely to reread anything it's poetry. Oh, and I did use to reread Cordwainer Smith's "The Game of Rat and Dragon" every now and again, but my eyes won't allow it right now.

If you wanted to cheat a little for another NaBloPoMo, February is the shortest month (and yet could probably use something to cheer it up a bit). August, with its dog days, might be another choice. I'm probably good for any month but December.
