Tutorial 2, Gakkun~

‘ello! Back again, this time with Gakkun~ Let’s get started :o! I like this base~

interesting balance…ne?

1. As much as I love Yuushikins I need his head outta there. Use the eyedropper to get a blue colour from the sky and just colour until his head is gone. Then I take a white from the cloud and make the cloud a little bigger. Then I just use the blur tool until it looks natural. Resize and prep your base as needed. Auto Levels, Auto Colour; whatever you feel is necessary ^.^;

2. Now, I always love doing this~ Duplicate the base and set it to overlay. Then, Filter> Blur> Guassian Blur to about 3-4. Now it looks all dreamy and stuff ^.^~

3. This step is completely skippable. At this point I used selective colour to brighten up his hair.

RED
cyan: -65
magenta: +100
black: -30

though, unless your trying to achieve a more magenta colour in you image, these numbers mean nothing to you :D;;;;

3. Set this:
texture by to Multiply at 100. looks a little icky now, but don’t you worry, we’ll brighten it right up :D!

4. Duplicate your base layer and bring it to the top, and set to softlight 100. whee :D.

5. Take this:
texture by lizabeth0606 [on devart?] and set it to screen. I <3 the white bubbles~

6. Now let’s take this:
little number by user and set to sofltight~ now Gakuto’s shining bright! ^_^

7. Now, I was ready to add text, using Angelina for flying, and my theatre whore in my used Broadway for free. But as you see, it’s hard to see. Let’s remedy that!

8. Go under your text layer and create a new layer. Get a white brush on hardness 0. I used one at 45, about the size of my text.
I just make a nice big bubble, and then set that to softlight. I wanted it a bit lighter, so I duplicated the layer we just created. Nice and bright, ne? ^_^

10. Lastly~! I took this border,
and set to overlay 100.

lookie here, we’re done! Now, here’s standard disclaimer for creativity. Play around~ use different textures, opacities, layer types etc ^_^~ have fun with it 8D.
