You're welcome! This pic is one of the loveliest I've seen around lately and I'm really appalled by the lack of reaction from other viewers!

Do you use photo references when you draw? I sometimes do, but I'm quite impatient with them an never get them very accurately. (The guitar is fabulous, btw. But my favourites are the face and hair.)

my problem is most of my flist isn't really into HP. i'm thinking about posting to remus_centric but that looks like it's mostly for fics. i post fanart so infrequently that i suppose it's a surprise when i get off my duff and do something.

i usually look for photos of people in poses so i get can the anatomy right. i like things to look as realistically as possible. for this, i asked my daughter to hold a guitar so i could get the pose and guitar angle right.

Beautiful. The look on his face is so ... right. I have a guitar-playing son, and some friends that play, and you've captured that look ... faraway, almost like willing the music to come forward. I'm not sure how else to describe that look, except perhaps 'getting into the zone' and shutting out the outside world.

I am here on leochi's rec. Lovely, lovey artwork. And though they were a pain, the guitar strings did turn out nicely. This makes me wonder, too, what Teddy must have looked like at this age. I love the hair.

thanks! yes, i erased and used rulers more times than i can count on this one. i was going to draw teddy, but i'm still unclear as to who he looks like.
