i did, and i thought it was beautiful.

i think that even if you and most of your friends are staunch republicans, i hope you can appreciate that obama has been reaching across the aisle to republicans more than you guys could have ever hoped for, and definitely more than bush ever did!

I watched it yesterday live and I thought it was good. Obama presented a good speech and I thought what he said was important to hear, and he doesn't deny that it will be hard or that we'll have to wait awhile before we get results and promises kept - he knows that. Basically, I think we've reached bottom so the only way to go is up hopefully...anything is better than BUSH. Plus Aretha Franklin was wonderful and didn't you see Yo Yo Ma playing too? They were great too. and that poem that was read was beautiful. Overall, I think it was very nice and well done. There. Oh, and Michelle Obama's outfit was fabulous and chic and I LIKED IT. She looked really good. Thank GOD SHE WASN'T WEARING SHOULDER PADS!

Now I would have expected Laura to make such a fashionable comment. Not that Laura wouldn't say something else...but I know she is attune to that.

I liked her outfit, but I didn't really care for the color of her outfit as much. A little bright perhaps. But color is nice.

I personally liked the benediction myself--he added some humor in there and he was a civil rights activist as well.
