What do pirates devoted to improving their combat performance do after a major battle . . . AARs(*), of course.
(*) After Action Review. A technique used by the US military to improve performance, ironically borrowed from the Chinese Communists. Some officers would rather have died in the battle than live through the AAR afterwards. The theory is that since there is no enemy good enough to challenge us, we must therefore critique ourselves :)
