hello megori. i am recently new to live journal (just made an account yesterday^^) and saw your journal. i always love meeting new people who also enjoy the beauty of yaoi. in regards to OTRFK i am a huge fan. i own all four of the books (i thought there was only 3 so imagine my surprise when i found out about the 4th!). the OTRFK novels are my all time favorites so i'm sad that it held so little appeal for you (to each his own right?). however, i did enjoy reading your thoughts on the book.
Well, I believe there's actually a total of five books to the entire series. The fifth book won't be released for another few months (and hopefully it's just a few months). I think what made me dislike the novel series wasn't really the lack of plot (as there is a plot), but the enormous amount of grammatical errors that made me want to chuck the book across the room and scribble all over it (fixing the errors) that drove me over the top.
i have to agree with you on that point. the grammatical errors are ridiculous. i've sort of trained myself to automatically translate the mistake to the proper word, phrase, name, etc. (although i admit it is sad that i should have to do that). had i not fallen in love with the series first with the manga, i doubt i would enjoy the novels so much, because they can be slow at points.
yeah i read about the fifth volume and i'm really looking forward to it. the fourth one left off on a bit of a cliffhanger so i'm really anxious.
i'm also anxious to see what you read and write about next.

I've been an avid fan of these two since the manga and i still can't believe i found an exact replica of the ring.
i share the same sentiments in some parts.
the grammatical errors were so...err.... but that's why there's a "read between the lines". lol.
i love this volume and the third.
the fourth ended in a cliff hanger .... (- _ -)
and i'm still waiting for the fifth.
