Osaka Castle Museum

Today we left the house by 8:30 heading out to Osaka for a visit to the castle museum there.

Upon arriving, just coming out of the train station, we were greeted with a loud symphony of cicada sounds. It was almost deafening. It actually drowned out the sound of a helicopter flying overhead.

Somehow it's simply amusing when you refer to the sounds of the cicada as a symphony. Maybe it's just me....

The puzzle-like nature of the rock wall in the picture reminds me of some of the things about building structures that I learned recently on my trip. But you will all have to wait for more on that one.

And I do have to say that viewing pictures of you in period attire gives me good, healthy chortles.

The okonomiyaki looks inviting also.

I knew the word symphony was not quite the word I wanted. I actually plugged my ears for a while. I thought we could go deaf to that frequency with that constant sound in our ears.

The rock walls are just amazing. You have some beautiful examples in Spain. If you get a chance to go to Segovia and see the Roman aquaducts, it is well worth it. They have been there thousands of years, rocks piled together so well you can't put a knife blade between them, I'm told...no mortar.
