The internet feels lonely. Where is everyone? I've searched around and found little activity. Nobody on livejournal is posting much. If all of the activity has moved somewhere else, I'd like to know where that is. I'm getting a little annoyed with the state of things. I can find plenty of internet activity having to do with size acceptance, ( Read more... )

Everyone seems to be on Myspace, which is kind of sad as there's less in the way of blogging. Myspace is more about shallow commenting, where LJ has the whole blog side & commenting with friends pages.

My girlfriend's slowly getting bigger, she doesn't want to purposely, but it's just happening. The bigger she's getting, the more into it I get. She's slowly coming to terms with the weight and she really enjoys the attention she gets from me about her weight. I think it's just the social effects she's worried about.

Yeah, I had a MySpace for awhile, but eventually deleted it. I remade one, the one I have now, but have added nothing to my profile and have no friends. MySpace seemed full of hungry guys and loads of skinny girls experimenting with weight gain, only to change their mind within a month. I really like blogging, reading, writing, and commenting. MySpace has lots of users, but none of them are very active. It's all about the pictures there, and I don't post pictures, for plenty of reasons. I mean, pictures of myself do exist on the internet, but I'm not going to expose them to the FA/gaining community. I like hearing stories. Pictures are good and all, but not so exciting without the day-to-day stories ( ... )

What I hate is the amount of sleazy people within this scene, that's what originally put me off it all. Prior to my girlfriend, when I was searching for a mutual gainer, I'd get guys hitting on me because I had BBW in my nick (BBWLVA). It was really sad & annoying.

i'm here all the time checking for people. but, it's pointless for me to update because, as you pointed out, no one seems to care anymore. but, if you ever would like to chat, i'd be more than happy to talk to you about gaining, eating and getting fat. my progress has slowed a lot, though. but, i'm starting back up!

Yeah, I'll just write anyway and hope someone reads. Well, you and I are in the same boat! My progress not only slowed, it reversed! But I'm going to flip that again. I want to get fat!

I read and enjoy your blog. Is there anyway to see how many people read your blog? I’ll bet you have a lot of readers that don’t comment.

Have you ever looked at http://www.roboppy.net/food/archives.html This girl named Robyn started a blog about eating at restaurants and appears to gotten a real job doing it after she graduated from college.

Please keep writing!

There isn't. Do you have a blog, though? You're posting as anonymous, which is fine; but it's so much friendlier when you have an account! Thank you for reading, though. I accepted a long time ago that I don't like to write as much when it's simply for myself. I really appreciate comments.

I just checked out her blog, and her bazillion entries. I see she's not gaining or anything, but still, it's such an awesome idea. I so wish I could just eat out at a different restaurant everyday. And you say she makes a living out of it? Is she a critic or something? Being paid to eat! What could be better?! It reminds me of my dream from when I was little where I was chosen to be the taste-tester in Santa's workshop. Haha.

Scared off, I think. soylentlilac August 9 2007, 10:29:02 UTC
Hey Megs, it's great to hear from you.

I think we're all worried about the lack of activity too. Even on Myspace (and 43 Things before the "get fat" Thing was shut down), women never document their gain for very long before either going silent or deleting themselves entirely. Guys, on the other hand, seem to carry on just fine. Zonker has been around forever, for instance (hiya Zonk).

I can't be sure, but I'm almost certain that some of the guys with an interest in this are just being horrible to the women they find. They demand pictures aggressively, they volunteer unwanted fantasies, and in some cases track down the poor women's actual details and contact them directly. I bet you've at least had a few comments you wanted to delete.

So there's a huge community for this interest with a small contingent of people who regularly ruin it trying to gratify themselves, and it always takes a long time to rebuild.

So sad.

I had no idea about the 43 Things website. It doesn't seem to be very active itself, though. Their whole righteous attempt to make everyone healthy by shutting the 'get fat' thing makes me really angry. We have rights, don't you know! I've noticed that about girls, but it doesn't surprise me seeing how whimsical and back-and-forth I've been. However, I've never just given it all up ( ... )

Don't feel you must. soylentlilac August 10 2007, 04:28:54 UTC
To really thrive and survive, the community needs the gaining women themselves to network and support each other the way the men do (especially the gay men, I notice). You don't need the guys for that, and you certainly don't need pictures.

That would help a lot. But I really wouldn't want the guys to stop either. Support from guys, in my opinion, is just as, and probably even more, encouraging as when it comes from girls... as long as they don't go too far.

I prefer livejournal to myspace also, I created a myspace a few months ago and then deleted it just a month or so later because, as previously mentioned, there are a few weirdos that want to ruin it for everyone else I guess lol. I post pictures not to give guys something to drool over but just to prove that I am who I say I am. I guess, and because I like getting compliments on my weight, something I don't get in "real life". If you don't want that kind of attention, and I can certainly see why you wouldn't, then you're right about not posting pictures. I did make a new myspace, but I'm going to try and be a lot more choosy about which friend requests I approve ( ... )

Yeah, I remember you! It's good to hear from you again. I see that you have a couple of new posts up as well. I have to run to class now, but I'll read them sometime later. Enjoy your weekend!
