hi :) From my experience, I've been reasonably chubby (like 210 lbs.) and still regularly played basketball (and won) with my friends. Not sure if it's exactly like an endurance sport like jogging, but it's certainly not impossible.
Not really; the only times where I get any pains are in my legs after playing for awhile, but if I do plenty of stretching, it's not a problem.
Also, don't do those kinds of exercises in hot or humid weather unless you have large amounts of water with you; it'll sap all the drive right out of you.
Absolutely no reason why you can't be fat and fit, because they're not opposites.
How fit you are is simply the strength and stamina of your muscles, particularly the ones that work your heart and lungs. So if you work them, they can be in great shape no matter how much weight you pile on top of them. The bonus is that good muscles and a healthy heart will help you carry around all the extra weight. In fact, the weight HELPS you work your muscles when you move around. It's like built-in resistance training. This is why a lot of big people are quite light on their feet; as they've grown, they've grown strong.
Do realise that to get fit and get/stay fat, you'll have to eat really huge amounts. Regularly. I realise how hard that will be for you...*lol*
Okay yes, healthy and strong heart and lung muscles sound great! Are cardio activities still the best way to do this? What would be the best exercise to keep me fit with my heart and lungs strong, but minimize the amount of muscles gained elsewhere? I definitely do not want to be very muscularl; I mean, some are fine (I don't like being completely helpless. I'm actually naturally quite muscular though, without having to work out. So, I've always been pretty strong for a girl.), but not a lot. Soft pudge and flab is what I'm looking for.
:) Your little joke was very flattering! I liked it!
You've got the idea, cardio's the way to do it. Anything will do - jogging, swimming, DDR, dancing, etc. If you don't want to build muscle, pick something which uses your entire body and doesn't concentrate on any one part. Any team sport is good for that, or general aerobics.
Go hard for short periods, instead of going medium for long periods. That works your heart muscles without burning tons of calories. Try for 20-minute bursts of stuff.
Pudge and flab? Easy. Just keep taking in the calories. They'll stick.
Just don't overdo it w/ running. Sure you can stay fit, but IMO fat legs are one of the most beautiful areas of the body, and muscular legs, no matter how "fat" don't do it for me....you want to look soft and sexy, not like a linebacker. Hey, eat a banana split ansd think about it....
I agree. I guess I will maybe try to balance it out by swimming and using my arms, giving my legs a rest. Fat arms are almost just as beautiful as legs though. But there's no need to worry. Though I will be exercising, it will not be excessively, so there's no way I'm going to beef up or anything.
What a sweet scene... early morning and your grandma bringing you blueberry pancakes on a tray in bed!!! That's a vacation.
Your question about running vs eating suggests an interesting game. You'd need a partner. You'd decide what it is you want to eat, and before your partner gives it to you, he/she makes sure you do the exercise. Hmmm.....
